Catapult Print
One of Creative Sparks international clients are Catapult Print who are based in
the US. Catapult Print specialises in custom labels and packaging and they are aiming to become the number one label printing company of their type in America. They requested a number of animations which showcased several advantages that they offer the
end client.
Creative Spark designed a brief based around 3D tracking where a large printing reel travels and wraps around popular landmarks in the US. Each animation needed to have its own unique look and appearance, interacting with the footage to give the feel that it belonged in the scene.
Working in Cinema 4D, each scene needed to be 3D tracked. It was critical for this process to achieve the seamless movement of the CGI objects with both the camera and the actual footage. Once this stage was complete the next critical task was creating the lengthy reel which twisted, wrapped and twirled around buildings and motorways. This involved the masking of certain areas, to give the impression that the reel was interacting with the scene. The last but very much the important part of this project, was to illuminate the reel to mimic that which would have been produced by lighting in the original footage. This involved using the footage to create a custom HDRIs in C4D.
