The Gift of Oil

k2L is a marketing agency based in Manchester. They asked me to create a 3D piece for one of their clients, The Gift of Oil. The Gift of Oil sell a wide range of culinary artisan oils and balsamics. They recently launched sample boxes of these which they required in an animated format. The animation was to include an explosion of multi-coloured droplets from the box as it opened, whilst also revealing the sample products. The different coloured droplets and explosion effects are to represent the impact of the flavours offered by the various samples. K2L requested several animations and stills to be used on social media platforms.

To achieve realistic images, I modelled the box from the print designs given to me by K2L. The same process was used for the sample products. I used a Blender physics simulation to achieve the explosive droplet effect which also had to mimic the artwork on the sample box. K2L also emphasised that the animation should be fast and energetic, to reflect the ethos of the brand.
